The Assam Nepali Sahitya Sabha is dedicated to the sustained promotion, enrichment, and preservation of the Nepali language, literature, and cultural heritage of the Nepali-speaking Gorkhas of Assam. Its mission is to foster a dynamic, inclusive, and intellectually vibrant literary milieu by encouraging creative writing, critical scholarship, research, publication, and readership in Nepali, while at the same time safeguarding and transmitting the cultural traditions, values, and historical consciousness of the Gorkha community.

The Sabha seeks to serve as a representative and unifying platform for writers, poets, scholars, and cultural practitioners, facilitating dialogue, collaboration, and the exchange of ideas across generations and regions. With particular emphasis on nurturing young and emerging talents and strengthening literary and cultural activities at the grassroots level, it aims to ensure continuity and growth of Nepali literary traditions in Assam.

Through seminars, conferences, workshops, publications, commemorative programmes, and collaborations with academic, cultural, and governmental institutions, the Sabha endeavors to integrate Nepali literature of Assam’s Gorkhas into the broader literary and cultural mainstream of Assam and India, thereby upholding linguistic dignity, cultural identity, and social harmony.
